  1. OK, since I can’t get my periodic (and always erudite) Gary Vasilash fix via Gardner anymore, I’m signing up for your site. As a near-40-year auto industry veteran, I truly enjoy the breadth of your vision and thought-provoking insights.

  2. So Gary, beyond the Buick Envision and Polestar- VW will offer the first full range of Chinese cars in the American market on the new Chinese Market Platform with Chinese built software. With rapid final assembly in say Mexico? I think this is the first of a few manufacturers to go this route

  3. Gary…..your point regarding total vehicles in operation is excellent…

slightly dampened by the math. 1.1% of 286,000,000 VIO = 3.2m EVs.

  4. Hi Gary. You have been a breath of fresh air on both this site and Autoline After Hours. I always enjoy your thoughtful insights. We own 2 late-model plug-in hybrids (BMW 3 series and Grand Cherokee Trailhawk), both of which are considered full electrics in terms of “priviledge” rush hour road access. This week’s (July 1st 2024) observations on the mis-characterization of PIHV’s is spot on. While the battery is nice, most of our power train energy has been dedicated to the turbo-cxharged ICE components. I’m delighted you pointed out the issue as ICE’s will be with us for a very long time (even in Canada as well as the USA).

  5. Per Munro Live Youtube Channel, the Aptera body is carbon fiber and will come from Italy. That is most likely the reason the air tunnel testing was done in Italy.
